Heat Explained

Solar radiation consists of 3 primary components. They are visible light (See), infrared (IR) and ultraviolet (UV) rays (Feel). Our window film technologies use multiple technologies that repel most infrared radiation (rays that cause heat gain) and ultraviolet rays (UV-A and UV-B) to protect occupants and assets in cars and commercial buildings from glare, hotspots, fading, premature ageing and certain types of cancer. There are currently 3 different categories of heat performance in window films.

1

Absorption technologies are used by basic economical films to prevent heat travelling through the film. While this offers basic protection against UV and IR, it offers the lowest heat rejection performance.

2

Reflective technologies are employed in metalized and hybrid type film (dyed + metalized construction) to reflect the same harmful rays while offering unsurpassed heat rejection and maintaining high visible light transmittance levels

3

New generation window films use Nano Technology to split and harmful rays and disperse them , This technology provides an added benefit of heat dispersion to benefits provided by Reflective technologies.

The obvious benefit of dispersion is that it provides a two-way avenue for harmful rays to be rejected from the both sides of glass as opposed to the traditional avenue that only absorbs and/or reflect from a single side, This translates to faster cooling times when left out in the sun on a hot day.

Construction & Installation

At Glastec, we take pride in every product we sell. Our products feature a complete Manufacturer-Backed Warranty and our legendary Performance Guarantee puts us ahead of the competition.

Glastec window films feature scratch-resistant coating on one side with a mounted adhesive layer and a protective release liner on the other side.

During installation, the protective liner is removed and adhesive side of the film is applied to the interior surface of glass. Glastec window films can be clear, coloured or patterned and made in various thicknesses for solar and safety/security purposes.

Solar control films can be customised for glare and energy reduction in commercial and residential markets. The to reduction in solar heat gain, glare and UV light is the main purpose of automotive markets.

Security films are used to improve safety and security or to protect automotive interiors from everyday road debris.

Our films must be professionally installed to ensure its complete performance for the products lifetime.

At Glastec, we recognise that window film is a complicated subject. Even so, we are committed to helping you find the right protection using our professional knowledge to deliver complete protection solutions to our customers.
